Lyrics are more positive and thought provoking, while the melodies give off that feel good vibe.
While Julian's debut album showed some influence from his favourite artists, it still kept that distinctive sound which is so unique to him. However, stepping up a gear or two In Between The Lines shows influences yet to be brought out in his previous recordings. Artists such as The Beatles, Oasis and Soft Cell to name but a few, clearly have an influence on this album whilst still having all the marks of a Julian Barry record.
